The Air Safety Manager (ASM) acts as the focal point for all issues relating to Air Safety. This entails the oversight of the Air Safety Management System (ASMS) and the timely preparation, presentation and delivery of associated Air Safety Performance data. The ASM is the assurance officer for all aspects of the safe operation of aviation activities by Ascent, and represents Ascent’s interests in all matters pertaining to Air Safety to external parties. The ASM is the focal point for the Ascent Emergency Response Plan (ERP). The ASM supports ASIMS including the investigation; reporting and analysis of airborne incidents under Duty Holder construct iaw MRPs. The ASM conducts trend analysis on ASIMS information for UKMFTS platforms. The ASM acts as the Ascent focal point for any DASOR’s and in liaison with Hd AA MOR’s raised by the Aircraft Service Providers. The ASM is responsible for the co-ordination of Ascent’s input into platform Air System Safety Cases, and acts as the safety subject matter expert, for both current and future aircraft systems.
