Commercial Manager - SDSR

An exciting opportunity to be part of the successful delivery of the UK Military Flying Training System. The successful candidate will be accountable to the SDSR Senior Commercial Manager to deliver commercial services and guidance to our company to ensure the company meets its contractual and legal obligations and enforces its contractual and legal rights in support of delivering wider company business objectives.
Devise procurement strategy, draft RFI & REP/ Contract documentation, lead bid evaluation process & negotiations with contracting parties, finalise and sign contracts
Act as formal contractual interface with the MOD and bidder / suppliers
Provide status reports on commercial issues to SDSR Programme Manager and SDSR Senior Commercial Manager
Attend total safety awareness events and read safety related briefs to maintain commercial team awareness to air safety
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Core Competence including:communication, team working including building relationships and giving support, change innovation and adaptability. Investigating issues, processing details and problem solving. structuring tasks, planning and prioritising
Experience and knowledge of managing competitions, bid evaluation and negotiation
Experience and knowledge of service delivery & performance management, supplier relationship management, contract administration
Relevant degree; professional qualification or appropriate equivalent experience
Strong oral and written communicator
Highly motivated team player with an ability to influence
Good knowledge of the tools and techniques for managing contracts
Ability to quickly build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
Ensure adherence to the Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and Air Safety responsibilities, as detailed in Annex A of the Ascent Employee Handbook and the Managing Director’s Air Safety Statement.

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence Security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
