Scheduler - Rotary Wing
Location: RAF Shawbury
The Operations Scheduler will use a Training Management Information System (TMIS) to ensure the efficient scheduling of all training and resources on a busy UKMFTS training unit.
Your main responsibilities will involve:
The RW planner is responsible for the production and delivery of the daily training schedule for UKMFTS RW flying training
Responsible to the Operations Officer for the production and delivery of the daily schedule and long term planning for aircrew currencies
Develop and maintain robust back-up measures for TMIS to ensure training continuity
Assist in medium and long term planning to meet a published Course Delivery Schedule (annual)
Use TMIS to capture and process inputs and requests from a variety of military and civilian sources
Use TMIS to assist in the production of an optimised and integrated, flying and ground training schedule for UKMFTS RW flying training.
Manage the delivery of the daily training schedule as part of the Operations Team, including reacting to last minute changes in resources , weather and priorities
Liaise with the Operations Officer and Training Manager to ensure that TMIS planning reflects UKMFTS forecast input/output dates and maintains appropriate training standards for personnel
Deputise for the Operations Officer at planning meetings in his absence, as directed
Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Experience of military flying operations
Good problem solving, mathematical and analytical skills
Computer fluency to include Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Explorer.
Strong team player
Ability to perform to the highest of standards with the minimum of direct supervision.
Strong oral and written communicator
Ability to build internal and external relationships
Ability to effectively communicate in a military environment across a diverse rank structure
The ability to adopt a flexible 37.5 hour working week around core flying windows of 08.00-17.00 Mon-Fri
Ability to cover night flying periods 16.00-02.30 Mon-Thur
Previous experience in the production of military flying or ground training schedules
Previous Military Flight Operations, Flight Planning or ATC experience

Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence Security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
